After you perform an update of SAS Environment Manager, you might notice the following:
You do not receive any error messages with these events.
If the release of SAS Environment Manager stays the same during the update, SAS® Deployment Wizard creates backup folders before the update is performed. For example, you might have backups that are similar to the following:
SAS-configuration-directory/Lev1/Web/SASEnvironmentManager/agent-backup_2015-01-01-2-38-24
SAS-configuration-directory/Lev1/Web/SASEnvironmentManager/server-backup_2015-01-01-2-38-24
After the update is complete, you can delete the backup directories.
If the release of SAS Environment Manager changes during the update, two folders will exist for the server, each with a different release number (server-release-number), as shown in the following example:
New plug-ins might be deployed to the original folder instead of the new location. For example, the following plug-ins are place in the original folder (SAS-configuration-directory/Lev1/Web/SASEnvironmentManager/server-5.0.0-EE/hq-engine/hq-server/webapps/ROOT/WEB-INF/hq-plugins/):
In addition, the following JAR files are also placed in the original folder: SAS-configuration-directory/Lev1/Web/SASEnvironmentManager/server-5.0.0-EE/hq-engine/hq-server/webapps/ROOT/WEB-INF/hq-plugins/emi_framework/lib/.
Copy all of these files to the corresponding folder in the new location ((/server-5.8.0-EE) so that the related plug-ins will work. Then delete the old /server-5.0.0-EE folder.
